Lovibond Alkali Hi/Lo Test Kit

1.0N Hydrochloric Acid

Sodium Thiosulphate Crystals
METHOD
- Add 5ml of test solution, using the syringe provided, to the screw capped plain tube.
- If the product is chlorinated (*) add a crystal of sodium thiosulphate and shake to dissolve.
- Add 2 drops of phenolphthalein indicator.
- Add 1.0N hydrochloric acid drop-wise from the dropping bottle (must be held vertically).
- Shake the tube between drops and record the number of drops required to just remove the pink colour from the solution.
