Simulating the food temperature rather than the air temperature around it, the block probe allows instant, accurate temperature checks when connected to a compatible Hanna thermometer.
One of the advantages of the block probe is that when the chiller or transportation is opened, the block probe does not immediately change in temperature, so gives an accurate representation of the temperature of the food stored rather than reflecting the change in air temperature on opening. This is especially useful during transportation.
To maximise the performance and accuracy of the temperature readings, the block probe should be placed where most of the food is stored, so it gives an accurate representation of the food temperature.
