Reagents use various chemical methods to determine the concentration of the substance present.
The Hanna Instruments-706-25 is a pack of 40 reagents for use with the Hanna Instruments-706 Phosphorus high range checker.
The Hanna Instruments-706-25 are high quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Phosphorus High Range Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Amino Acid Method in which the reaction between phosphorus and reagents causes a blue tint in the sample. By simply adding 10 drops of the first reagent to the sample, followed by the packet of the Hanna Instruments-706-25 reagent set, the reaction will take place and the Hanna Instruments-706 will determine the concentration from the colour that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppm (mg/L) of phosphorus. These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.00 to 15.00 ppm (mg/L) phosphorus.
Tip for an accurate measurement
It is important that the sample does not contain any debris.
Whenever the cuvette is placed into the measurement cell, it must be dry outside and completely free of fingerprints, oil or dirt. Wipe it thoroughly with Hanna Instruments-731318 or a lint-free cloth prior to insertion.
Shaking the cuvette can generate bubbles, causing higher readings. To obtain accurate measurements, remove such bubbles by swirling or by gently tapping the cuvette.
Do not let the reacted sample stand for too long after reagent is added, or accuracy will be lost.
After the reading, it is important to discard the sample immediately, otherwise the glass might become permanently stained.
