The Hanna Instruments-4104 is a calcium combination ISE ideal for the detection of free Calcium in food, beverages, water, and seawater.
The Hanna Instruments-4104 is a liquid membrane, combination ion selective electrode (ISE) for the determination of calcium (Ca2+) in solution. The PVC membrane along with an organic ion exchanger produces a potential change due to the calcium ion exchange between the organic polymer membrane and the sample. The internal sensing elements are housed within a durable polyetherimide (PEI) body.
The Hanna Instruments-4104 Calcium Ion Selective Electrode is a complete potentiometric cell that contains a Silver/Silver Chloride (Ag/AgCl) reference housed within a PEI plastic body with a Potassium Chloride electrolyte. The internal elements are isolated from the sample by an organic polymer sensing membrane. Hanna’s liquid membrane combination ISEs are designed with a cone style junction.
Before testing, it is important that the ionic strength of the standards and sample be adjusted to a high and constant value with the ionic strength adjuster (ISA) solution (Hanna Instruments-4000-00). The Hanna Instruments-4104 calcium liquid membrane ISE can measure from 3µM (0.12 mg/L) to 1M (40,080 mg/L).
