Alkalinity P is a measure of the water to the pH-value 8.3 (colour change of phenolphthaleine) resultant from the presence of hydroxides, carbonates, bicarbonates and a minor part from silicates and phosphates.
The Alkalinity P Minikit is for determination of alkalinity where the pH of the water is over 8.5. Tablets are dissolved in a known volume of liquid until a colour change occurs.A calculation is then used to determine the concentration in mg/l or ppm.
