Description

The HALO® has a gel filled glass body and a spherical glass sensing microbulb. The Hanna Instruments-10832 meter has a bulb tip that is only 3 mm in diameter and can be used to measure pH in samples as little as 100 µL. This meter is ideal for working with well plates, micro-centrifuge tubes, and for samples that offer little volume to work with. All readings are transmitted directly to your mobile or tablet (via Hanna Lab App) device or the edge® blu.

Hanna Instruments-10832 HALO® Wireless pH electrode with Microbulb

The Hanna Instruments-10832 HALO® is a glass pH electrode that incorporates Bluetooth Smart (Bluetooth 4.0) wireless technology with an application-specific design. It has many features that make it ideal for use in laboratory applications, such as when using well plates, micro-centrifuge tubes, and for samples that offer little volume to work with.

These features include:

  • General purpose (GP) glass, microbulb tip, glass body, and open junction with viscolene gel electrolyte

  • Connect to the Hanna Lab App at the press of a button via Bluetooth® wireless technology

  • View the status of your meter from a glance, the LED “halo” light flashes to indicate the status of the probe

  • Easily replaced HALO® CR2032 lithium ion battery that lasts for approximately 500 hours

General Purpose Glass

General Purpose (GP) glass is a standard glass intended for general use. A pH electrode with GP glass will have a resistance of 100 megaohms at 25°C and is suited for measuring pH of samples that are at ambient temperatures. The Hanna Instruments-10832 is suitable to use with samples that measure from 0 to 50°C.

Micro Bulb Tip

The 3 mm micro bulb tip design allows for measurement in samples less than 100 µL. In the field of biotechnology, samples may need to be measured in test tubes, vials, and 96 well plates, which the small bulb of the Hanna Instruments-10832 easily allows for.

Glass Body

The glass body is ideal for laboratory use and resistant to many harsh chemicals, plus easily cleaned. The glass body also allows for a fast transfer of heat to the internal reference electrolyte. The mV generated by the reference cell is temperature dependent. The faster the electrode reaches equilibrium, the steadier the reference potential.

Open Junction Reference

Suspended solids and proteins will clog a conventional ceramic reference junction. This clogging will impede the measurement circuit between the indicating electrode and the internal reference resulting in slower response time, erratic readings, and frequent electrode replacement. The open junction design consists of a solid gel interface (viscolene) between the sample and internal Ag/AgCl reference. This interface not only prevents silver from entering the sample, but also makes it impermeable to clogging. This results in a fast response and stable readings.
