What is a Certificate of Origin?

A Certificate of Origin is a document which identifies the origin of goods being exported and is issued by a Chamber of Commerce.  It is required by customs in the buyer's country to determine tariff rates and determine the origin of the goods.

There are two types of documents you can apply for:

  • European Certificates of Origin
  • Arab-British Certificates of Origin

The type of document depends on the requirement of your overseas customer and the final destination of the consignment.

What is an Arab-British Certificate of Origin

A Certificate of Origin is a document which identifies the origin of goods being exported and is normally issued by a Chamber of Commerce. It is required by customs in the buyer's country to determine tariff rates.

Special Arab-British Chamber of Commerce Certificates of Origin are used for exports to some countries that belong to the the Arab League including:
